DESIGN

 PROTOS believe that Simulation and Predictive Analysis should be introduced at the earliest stages of the Design Iteration and should be a seamless process via the combination of Computer Aided Design and Engineering Software.

Analysis and Test should not only be used to produce "Pass or Fail" verdicts on Design but also to Optimise it by providing appropriate guidelines.

        Advanced drafting and visualisation techniques are employed in our design work that are enabled by State of the Art Computer Aided Design and Analysis software. Documentation for all Design related information can be produced by electronic and hard copy means.

•         Conceptual Design

 PROTOS collaborates with the client and assesses the objectives, functionality and in-service environment requirements of the product under consideration. Based on this assessment PROTOS can then provide various candidates options of the final design. Some candidate options can then be eliminated  based on ergonomic, mechanical, manufacturability, cost and other specific criteria identified and applied by PROTOS.

•         Detailed Design  

PROTOS will produce detailed drawings for a very limited number of candidate design options and will advise  their early submission to Validation by Analysis studies. These studies will then provide Design Guidelines early in the product manufacturing cycle, well before commitments are made, drastically reducing the number of prototypes.

•         Material Selection  

The selection of materials appropriate for the task to be performed by the product and capable of withstanding the "in- Service" load environments is an important ingredient of a successful design. PROTOS can assist their client in this facet of design work.

•         Design Verification / Troubleshooting

  PROTOS can assist their client to verify an existing Design or improve it to eliminate failure or sub-optimum performance. Assessment of designs with reference to their required  specifications is performed by first identifying the in-service environments of the product under consideration and then performing Simulations and Analyses to predict performance. Test campaigns are finally employed to verify Design.

•         Design Optimisation

Existing Designs can be optimised in as far as distinct or combined criteria are concerned. Weight reduction for Aerospace products, Manufacturability of mass produced products, Vibro-Acoustic performance, Sound Quality issues, Conformance with National and European imposed Standards, etc....
