CAE Calibrator for NASTRAN Software
This Software enables
NASTRAN ( and many other Finite Element Model Analysis
Software ) users to leverage test and other external data to
quickly and interactively compare, correlate, calibrate and
automatically update computer-aided-engineering (CAE) models for
structural dynamics. It ensures a CAE model's performance accurately
matches test data, other CAE models, and user-entered design targets.
The
Software was very well received by both Analysis and Test Engineers
responsible for FEM predictions and Modal Test and Ground Vibration Test
(GVT) respectively

PROTOS
performs successful Sound Quality Test Campaign for Spanish Tier-1
Automotive Supplier
PROTOS was contracted by a Spanish Tier -1 Automotive
Supplier to perform a Sound Quality Test campaign on one of their
products under development. The campaign included Acoustic and
Vibrational response measurements of the product under both operational
and controlled (Modal) excitation.
The analysis of the measured data was followed by a Jury
Evaluation of the original and altered Acoustic responses and identified
certain Vibro-Acoustic trends in them. The combination of subjective
Jury Evaluations and specific Metrics enabled the deduction of objective
conclusions on the inherent properties of the current design. These
inherent properties are responsible for the perceived Quality of the
Acoustic Emission ( Sound Quality ) of the product under development.
As a
result of the work performed PROTOS recommended a set of changes on the
current design in order to improve the Sound Quality of the product and
make it sound more pleasant, robust and acceptable by the future user.
All recommendations were based on the process of the above described
subjective /objective characterisation of the inherent product
properties.

PROTOS Euro-Consultores de Ingeniería S.L. Obtains ESA Valid Bidder
Status
The European Space
Agency ( ESA ) maintains very close links and works in co-operation with
Research Establishments, SMEs and other larger companies and
Institutions across the whole spectrum of Industry throughout Europe.
The co-operation and co-ordination efforts of ESA are partly channeled
by Contracts that are awarded to companies and organizations to perform
specific tasks.
The Contracts are
advertised by ESA by submitting Invitations To Tender to which eligible
companies respond by Technical and Financial competitive proposals. The
tasks as identified by ESA cover a wide range of areas including
research, technology development and manufacturing. All potential
bidders must register with the Industrial Relations Service of ESA HQ in
Paris and supply information on their company before they are allocated
a Valid Bidder Status.
PROTOS has been
awarded a Valid Bidder Status and has already expressed interest in
quoting as a Prime or / and Sub-Contractor for a number of current
Invitations To Tender (ITTs) advertised by the ESA. More information
can be found at the EMITS Service of ESA (http://emits.esa.int/. )

PROTOS Initiates contacts for the Formation of a Specific Targeted
Research Project Consortium
PROTOS has a proven
record of participation in European Community funded Research and
Technical Development projects and are very keen in participating in
related programs of the 6th Framework Package. As part of this and in
close collaboration with ALENIA Space of Turin, PROTOS has been
contacting various establishments (Universities, R&D Institutions, SMEs,
Industrial End Users, Service Firms, etc) in order to form a consortium
for the preparation and submission of a Technical Proposal on Sonic
Fatigue of Composite Materials.
Composite materials
have over the last 10 to 20 years been used in more and more structures
around us. The in service environment of these structures contains
punishing acoustic excitations whose corresponding loads produce Fatigue
failure. These failures are not so much due to excessive level loads
but mainly due to prolonged application of otherwise low level loads.
Understanding and predicting these Sonic Fatigue caused failures is the
subject of the proposed Project to be submitted under the Specific
Targeted Research Project Thematic Area of the Framework Package 6
